Head Softball Coach at Barry University since 2017, 2024 Sunshine State Conference Coach of the Year and the founder of Elite Collegiate Skills camps.

Sean Cotter was named the seventh head coach in Barry University softball history in the fall of 2017. He came to Miami Shores after three seasons as associate head coach at Florida Tech, bringing more than two decades of college coaching experience with him.
Before Florida, he built winning programs in the Northeast: one season at Teikyo Post, ten seasons at SUNY Plattsburgh — where he led the Cardinals to a fourth-place finish at the 2007 NCAA Division III Championship — and five seasons at UMass Lowell.
In 2024 he earned his first Sunshine State Conference Coach of the Year award. Off the field, he has served on the NFCA Board of Directors, NFCA Top-25 committees at all three NCAA levels and the Division III All-America Committee.
Cotter holds a bachelor’s degree in history and a master’s degree in counseling psychology from the University of Connecticut.
